When I was a kid, I was satisfied with a nickel. Today, I have to think the fairy must come up with at least a buck--inflation you know....

Pregnant women should not kickbox!

aww just look at that cute little baby monitor up there!

I would say five. A dollar can't even buy you a scoop of ice cream anymore. But it can get you 20 minutes of talk time on Sprint...

Yeah, 221 days to go. Not that I'm counting or anything.

I was thinking $5 too, but I don't want to set a dangerous precedent, or make it seem like the tooth fairy is more or less generous when mom is not around. Pressure!

My doctor says that I can continue with any activity that I was doing pre-pregnancy. Kickboxing included. It comes in handy when the hormones get out of control. Heh.

T, Yeah, five is the going rate around here. If Mom is in the habit of giving less, you could always claim that it is the vacation rate. Can you fish a bit with the other kids, you know, like asking how much the Tooth Fairy brought last tooth?

guess $5 really is the going rate these days...that's what his mom gave him, and then he mentioned it to grandpa and somehow got $5 more....

thinking about losing a few teeth here myself.....

$5?!?

My God, I don't need all of these teeth. I thought it was a dime ... ok, a quarter, if you adjust for inflation. If I got the equivalent of $5 per tooth as a kid, I would have been gumming my food and enjoying my brand new bike in no time.

I'd say a dollar, but I'm a stingy old curmudgeon. If you give $5, at least give the kid a pair of pliers.

I was thinking more like a quarter! Not $5. It shouldn't be about the money ... it should be about the magic of getting something for their tooth. JMHO

You guys just can't make this easy on me, can you?

I remember getting a dollar as a kid, and that's when Carter was president. Surely it's gone way up since then!

I've moved on to my next irrational fear, and that's that I wake her up by accident and blow the whole thing. This parenting business is tougher than I thought. :D

Nah, piece of cake. Give her five. If that turns out not to be the going rate, explain that this was a SPECIAL tooth.

If you wake her up, you were tucking her in.

If you fall asleep and forget about the tooth fairy, explain that the tooth fairy sometimes has busy nights when so many children lose their teeth that TF has to make a second round the next night, and that TF pays DOUBLE for those kids' teeth.

Parenting is actually a lot of fun. Go with the flow.

So how did it go? Did the Tooth Fairy wake her up? Was she happy with her moolah?

It was actually pretty funny. The tooth fairy didn't wake her up, and this morning she raced in with her $5 and said "There really IS a tooth fairy! I thought it was just my mom!" LOL
